Introduction
Veterinary nutraceuticals is now a rapidly evolving field, characterised by growing clinical and scientific interest.
However, this expansion is accompanied by considerable variation in the available evidence, the criteria for application and the interpretative models.
In this context, there is a clear need for a structured, rigorous and collaborative approach.
Our location
SINUVET was founded with the aim of promoting a vision of veterinary nutraceuticals based on:
- scientific rigour
- interdisciplinary integration
- clinical applicability
We believe that nutraceuticals should not be regarded either as an alternative to evidence-based medicine or as a mere extension of the supplements market.
Nutraceuticals are a tool, and as such they require a systematic approach, validation and a sense of responsibility.
What nutraceuticals are NOT (in our view)
- it is not marketing disguised as science
- it is not simply empirical use without critical evaluation
- it is not an unjustified replacement of established therapeutic approaches
The confusion between evidence and perception is the main risk facing the sector.
