      Francesca Ciani

      Professor Francesca Ciani, DVM, PhD, is a member of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production at the University of Naples Federico II, where she teaches Veterinary Physiology. She is the coordinator of Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Temple University.

      Her research focuses on evaluating the biological activity and molecular mechanisms of plants and plant extracts in in vitro systems and in vivo animal models, with a particular focus on redox modulation, nutraceuticals, and the One Health concept. She has also studied renal function using renal clearance and microperfusion techniques.

      She holds the FELASA category C certification and serves on scientific committees for the evaluation of phytotherapeutics, nutraceuticals, and functional foods. She is a Topical Advisory Panel Member for the journals Animals and Metabolites and is an editorial contributor to international journals. He is also Topic Editor and Convener of Special Issues in the Med-LIFE framework (2024 and 2025).
