Luca Aresu graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Turin in 2004 and earned his PhD there in 2007, in collaboration with the Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève. His doctoral thesis on inflammatory kidney diseases in dogs marked the beginning of his long-standing commitment to veterinary renal pathology. From 2007 to 2018, he served as Associate Professor at the University of Padua. He is currently Full Professor at the Department of Veterinary Sciences of the University of Turin, where he also served as Coordinator of the Veterinary Medicine Degree Program. Professor Aresu is a member of WSAVA and other scientific societies, and has authored more than 160 peer-reviewed publications. Since 2015, he has coordinated the European Veterinary Renal Pathology Service. His research has focused on canine cancer, particularly its genetic, epigenetic, and molecular basis. He also leads the Canine Cancer Genomic Atlas, advancing veterinary and comparative oncology research internationally.
