Maria Antonietta Ferrara
Coordinator of the ARTEMIS project funded by the European Commission under the Call “HE EIC PATHFINDER CHALLENGES-01-06
Maria Antonietta Ferrara is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Applied Sciences and Intelligent Systems of the National Research Council (CNR). She obtained a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II in 2003 and a PhD in Electronic Engineering from the ‘Mediterranea’ University of Reggio Calabria in 2008. Her research interests focus on digital holography, volumetric holographic optical elements, non-linear optics, coherent Raman spectroscopy and microscopy. She is head of the Imaging and Holography Laboratory at ISASI-CNR, Naples.
She is a leading scientist, having been awarded the prestigious SPIE Women in Optics Award in 2021 and recognised in 2024 and 2025 as one of the world’s top scientists (Top 2%). She is also the coordinator of the ARTEMIS project, funded by the European Commission under the ‘HE EIC PATHFINDER CHALLENGES-01-06’ call for proposals.
